Meet Gunnersbury’s Victorian kitchen maid and discover what homes were like in the past. How did they cook? How did they clean the carpets and who emptied the chamber pots? You can dress as maids and footmen, pound sugar with a pestle and mortar, beat carpets and scrub the floors!

Victorian Child 12 noon -1pm; 2.30-3.30pm

Cost £1 per child (accompanying adults free) payable in cash on the day – advance booking essential as places are limited

Discover what life was like for poorer Victorian children – street sellers, chimney sweeps and pick-pockets. Lots of opportunities for dressing up in period costume and role playing, including some characters from Oliver Twist
