Spring 2023 update

Don’t miss the young cherry saplings near the Stables – they are now in bloom! These were a gift from the Sakura Project and planted in late 2021 by Capel Manor College students and volunteers.

The Museum is offering various family events for the holiday, see their website. A few are described below – children must be accompanied by an adult.

Easter Bunny family trail, 1 to 16 April, part of a national project, thewildescape.org.uk.
Every day except Mondays you can pick up a free leaflet when you arrive and if you find all the bunnies hidden in the museum showcases you can enter a raffle for a soft toy.

Chocolate Celebration, 4 and 5 April , 11am-12noon, 1-2pm, 3-4pm. Book in advance on the website
Lizzie the kitchen maid will guide you through how the Victorians enjoyed their chocolate. Indulge in a nice hot chocolate drink, make some flower decorations and play some outside games. And, of course, there will be an egg hunt in the Park. For children aged 5+, £10 each, adults free.

Make and Take: Paper flowers and Spring Plants, 12 April, 11am -3pm, no need to book
Create some paper flowers to take home, free but suggested donation £2 per child, adults free. Gunnersbury’s Make & Takes are first come, first served and so you may need to wait to join the activity. This event is aimed at families making together – if you wish to bring a larger group, say from a children’s centre or holiday club, you must arrange this in advance.

The big summer events are now also listed on their website here, ranging from music to a festival of cricket

And two posts are on offer here – a Digital Engagement Producer (3 days a week), closing date 16 April and a Visitor Experience Supervisor (full time), closing date 10 April
