GUNNERSBURY, THE PLACE & THE PEOPLE
Sunday 2 December 2018
Meet outside the Café in the Park at 10.30am for a walk through the landscape of the Gunnersbury estate, uncovering the layers of history which can still be found. You will discover changes made from the middle ages onwards, first by the Frowyk family, then over the centuries by Sir John Maynard, Henry Furnese MP, Princess Amelia, Stephen Cosser, Alexander Copland and the Rothschilds and through into the 20th century.
It will be led by James Wisdom and Val Bott, using the research undertaken for their publication on the history of the estate to celebrate its restoration. The walk will end at 12 noon at the Café, in time for lunch!
