The Neighbournet group of community newspapers has reported the positive news that the necessary Hounslow Council permissions have now be granted and the café should be able to open in the near future.
While the summer months might have been more profitable, when the Friends ran the original café for three years in the 1980s our experience was of surprising high sales of ice cream even on the coldest days, and the rapid disappearance of serving trays whenever there was snow – they made excellent makeshift toboggans for small children and a member of staff had to wander round every 20 mins or so to being back enough for self service to be resumed!
