Hounslow Council’s Planning Department is currently considering two applications which relate to Gunnersbury Park. They are likely to be considered at one of two Planning Committee meetings in June so we thought it important to ensure that Friends were aware of them in case they wished to comment.

The application relating to the car park has the reference P/2021/1588 while that for Putt in the Park to use the Bowls Green & Pavilion is P2020/3080 which enables you to find them on the planning web pages. Both matters have been considered before and both were refused. The style, quantity and location of the signage was the reason for the refusal of the previous car park application; some changes have been made in this revised application. The second application from Putt in the Park was considered and deferred by the Planning Committee in January; planners were concerned that it still ignored a key policy about the disposal of community assets and recommended refusal. However, the planners have also asked the applicant for more information about the replacement of the bowling green with “a golf-related activity” and details of this are now on Hounslow Council’s planning webpages.

The Friends committee has discussed the application and will be submitting comments on both of them; these will be posted on this website when complete.
